The mission of the SOS Club is to support all ELD students and English Learners with their schoolwork in order to help them overcome their English language challenges and succeed academically.
The club is headed by Jay Shin and Allen Lee, Troy Tech/IB sophomores, who are non-native speakers themselves, and who are very empathetic and sensitive to the academic needs of English Learners.
The club’s membership of volunteer tutors is growing rapidly as they realize that their participation is vital to the success of academically struggling students as well as to their own curriculum vitae and letters of recommendation!
 
SOS Volunteer hours can also count for IB CAS hours!  If you have any questions regarding IB CAS hours, please see Dr. Nabi.

You are strongly encouraged to become members of this wonderful club and to begin helping and changing students’ lives. Thank you for your consideration and please feel free to refer struggling students and potential tutors to Dr. Nabi.

The following are the only locations to drop off and pick up students:

- the frontage road in front of the administration building
- in front of the north gym
- on Hale Avenue

Do not stop on Dorothy Lane to let students off in the middle of traffic and do not drop students off in staff or student parking lots.

The attendance office is a place with lots of foot traffic and little space to store personal items that you drop off for your sons/daughters during the day. In addition, there is no guarantee that personal items will be secure.

While in the past we have been able to accommodate you in this regard, we simply do not have the space in the office any longer to store items that you drop off for students. This also includes balloons and flowers to celebrate special occasions.
