I can’t believe this is the last newsletter for the year and that the school year is quickly coming to an
end! What an eventful and exciting year. Congratulations to the Class of
2010 and to all the parents, family and friends of these remarkable students. It is just the beginning of thrilling adventures for them and I look forward to
graduation and sharing in their excitement. |

It has been a very positive and busy year for Troy high school. Some of the highlights include:
|
|
|
- Troy’s Academic Performance Index (API) score was 925.
- The National Merit Scholarship Corporation honored 95 commended scholars, 79 semi-finalists and 69 finalists.
- The Science Olympiad team won their 14th consecutive State Science Olympiad competition and finished 5th in
the nation at the National Science Olympiad
- Troy administered 2118 AP tests with a passage rate of 93%
- Troy is honored that there are 5 seniors who have accepted appointments to the following service academies:
- United States Military Academy at West Point – 1 appointee
- United Stated Air Force Academy – 2 appointees
- United States Naval Academy – 2 appointees
- Troy earned 13 Freeway League Championships and 15 teams advanced to CIF competition.
- Troy’s NJROTC won the Academic Brain brawl in Las Vegas. They were once again certified as a Distinguished
Unit for the 9th year in a row! Troy finished 5th in the nation at the national competition if Florida.
- Troy’s Best Buddies Chapter was again named an Outstanding Best Buddies Chapter.
- The Troy’s Dance Team was named as Grand Champion at the Contest of Champions in Orlando Florida.

I would like to personally thank all of our parents for the support they provide to our students. The support and
commitment TSO and PTSA is unbelievable. Supportive parents are the cornerstone of a successful high school. It
is through the partnership between Troy High School, students and parents that enables our students to become
prepared to pursue future educational, professional and career goals. The parents, students, teachers and staff at
Troy High School are working together to provide a wonderful, high quality learning environment where all
students can achieve success.
